Neil Younger

Neil Younger

Head of Dealer Groups and Licensee Select

Neil is responsible for the independently-owned planner business within  BT Financial Group which incorporates the Securitor and Magnitude Dealer Groups and the Licensee Select business. Neil is also responsible for the ongoing development of AdviserNETgain.

Starting his career in financial services in 1987, Neil spent several years in dealer management in the early days of AMP Financial Planning, later moving into sales and sales management roles. In 1999, Neil joined Asgard Wealth Solutions in Queensland as a Business Development Manager, becoming State Manager prior to moving into a senior strategy role. He later went on to run Securitor, Licensee Select and AdviserNETgain.

Adrian De Silva

National Manager, Distribution

Adrian joined the Group in 2004. He is responsible for the execution of all distribution and sales strategies for Securitor, Licensee Select and Magnitude.

Prior to this, Adrian was Southern Area Manager for Asgard Wealth Solutions, responsible for implementing and executing strategy for both the Asgard platform Securitor and Licensee Select. Adrian has also held State Manager roles for Asgard Wealth Solutions and AMP Business Development, distributing technical and marketing services within product manufacturing.

Jason Gapps

Jason Gapps

National Manager, Practice and Advice Development

Jason's current role sees him working alongside the Dealer Groups’ Practice Development Managers, other members of the distribution team, and with advisers, ensuring that Practice and Advice Development remains practical and current.

Jason was previously a Securitor Business Development Consultant in the Regional NSW & ACT team. His experience includes 12 years as a practitioner in the Accounting profession and eight years in Operations and General Management roles within healthcare services, financial planning and accounting businesses.

Immediately prior to joining the Group, Jason was also a self-employed Business Coach.

Greg Schapkaitz

State Manager New South Wales & ACT

Greg joined the Group in March 2008 as a Practice Development Manager. In April 2009, he was appointed to his current role, which sees him responsible for managing the NSW & ACT Dealer Group and Licensee Select distribution team and facilitating the delivery of dealer group services to advisers. Greg’s main focus is on the delivery and implementation of practice development and other growth initiatives in our advisers’ businesses.

Prior to joining the Group Greg owned his own financial planning business, which he grew and developed over eight years before selling in August 2007. Greg is very passionate about financial services and brings his strong sales and business management experience to help our advisers achieve their business goals and objectives.

Hazel Ruby

Hazel Ruby

State Manager, Western Australia

Hazel joined the Group in October 2008 as State Manager for Western Australia.

Since the late 1980’s, Hazel has held positions throughout the financial services industry, including training and development, sales management, consulting and practice management.

Hazel has worked in many areas from private enterprise to representing international corporations. Her passion is business consulting and team development.

Ben Hailes

State Manager, Queensland

Ben joined the Group in 2009 as State Manager for Queensland.

For the past 11 years Ben has worked in Financial Services and Funds Management, beginning his career with Macquarie Bank in portfolio management before moving to Professional Investment Services and Brookfield Multiplex Capital in both state-based and national distribution roles.

In his current role, Ben is responsible for the development and support of associated advisory firms in Securitor, Magnitude and Licensee Select.

Jennifer Purnell

Jennifer Purnell

State Manager Victoria

In her current role as State Manager, Jennifer is responsible for sales and business development in Victoria and Tasmania across Securitor, Licensee Select and Magnitude.

Prior to this, Jennifer was also responsible for Asgard in Victoria and Tasmania. She has gained a broad range of experience having worked in various roles across the platform and dealer group divisions. Jennifer holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Deakin University.

Matt Englund

Head of Practice Management, BT Financial Group

Matt was appointed Head of Practice Management, a centralised function providing dealer services across the Advice and Private Banking businesses in BT Financial Group in December 2008 following the merger of St.George and Westpac.

Matt moved in to this role from Asgard Wealth Solutions, which he joined in early 2008 as Area Manager, responsible for leading and managing sales teams and operations across four states. Prior to that, Matt spent 9 years with Colonial First State, where he held several senior management roles, including Head of Advice Solutions and Head of Distribution Development.

Jennifer Purnell

Bryan Ashenden

Senior Manager, Technical Consulting, BT Financial Group

Bryan joined BT Financial Group in May 2001 and is responsible for the Group’s Technical Consulting offering. Prior to this, Bryan was worked within the Tax Division of KPMG Sydney. Encompassing technical hotline support, high net worth solutions and technical research, the Technical Consulting business’ goal is to ensure that planners are kept up to date on legislative changes, have access to effective strategies to assist in meeting client needs, and aware of regulatory and legislative changes that impact on client strategies and the way that planners can operate their business.

Piers Bolger

Senior Manager, Research, BT Financial Group

Piers is responsible for the Research business area of Advice & Private Banking for BT Financial Group, which includes the provision of all strategic investment, asset allocation and product related research.

Before joining BTFG, Piers was Head of Research and Investments within the wholesale business of UBS Global Asset Management in Australia and co-Portfolio Manager for a quantitative based equity income strategy.

Piers has held various asset consulting and investment research positions in a number of consulting and fund-of-fund investment manager groups with 18 years of industry experience. His responsibilities included the development of asset allocation and investment strategies, as well as thematic market and investment related research.

Piers is an Associate of the Securities Institute of Australian (ASIA) and a Member of the Investment Management Consultants Assoc (IMCA).

Jennifer Purnell

Darelle Jenkins

National Manager, AdviserNETgain, BT Financial Group

Darelle has recently been appointed as the new national manager for AdviserNETgain, the financial planning practice technology provided by BT Financial Group.This new role will see her involved in its strategic development.

Darelle brings to the position several years of financial services experience, having held a variety of senior management roles at organisations such as Colonial First State, Commonwealth Bank and MLC. Most recently she was Managing Director of the Macquarie-owned Coin Software, a position she held for over two years until late November 2009

Darelle believes the future of advice technology is a critical success factor in addressing some of the challenges financial advisers face in preparing for the changing regulatory landscape, running a successful business and articulating the value of advice delivered.

Karen Giuliani

Senior Manager, Advice Marketing (Dealer Groups), BT Financial Group

Karen is responsible for marketing and communications for BT Financial Group’s independently-owned planner business which incorporates Securitor, Licensee Select and Magnitude. She joined the Group in 2005 and has held a number of roles in both St.George and Asgard Wealth Solutions including Head of Brand and Online Marketing. Having spent the breadth of her career in financial services, Karen has a strong belief in the industry’s responsibility to deliver quality advice to more Australians.

John Burton

National Manager, Recruitment, BT Financial Group

John has recently been appointed into the newly created role of National Manager, Recruitment. John is responsible for the development and implementation of key strategic recruitment activities for BT Financial Group’s independently-owned planner business which incorporates Securitor, Licensee Select and Magnitude.

John brings to the position 15 years of experience in financial services, commencing his career as a Financial Adviser for 7 years, before moving into a Practice Management role with National Australia Financial Planning. Prior to joining BT Financial Group, John spent the last 5 years assisting financial advisers to grow their practices as a Practice Development Manager with MLC.
