Meet some of the team
Matt Englund
Head of Dealer Groups
Matt is responsible for the independently-owned advice businesses within BT Financial Group which incorporates the Securitor and Licensee Select brands. Matt moved in to this role in September 2010 after leading BT Financial Group’s Practice Management function who were responsible for providing dealer services across the Advice and Private Banking businesses.
Prior to the merger between Westpac and St.George, Matt was Distribution Area Manager for Asgard and Securitor, responsible for leading and managing sales teams and operations across four states. Matt also spent nine years with Colonial First State, where he held several senior management roles, including Head of Advice Solutions and Head of Distribution Development.
Matt holds a Bachelor of Business (UTS) and a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning (SIA). He is also currently chair of the Advice & Private Banking Investment committee, is an active participant in a number of FSC Advice working groups and is a proud but busy father of four.
Adrian De Silva
National Manager, Distribution
Adrian joined the Group in 2004. He is responsible for the execution of all distribution and sales strategies for Securitor and Magnitude.
Prior to this, Adrian was Southern Area Manager for Asgard Wealth Solutions, responsible for implementing and executing strategy for both the Asgard platform Securitor and Licensee Select. Adrian has also held State Manager roles for Asgard Wealth Solutions and AMP Business Development, distributing technical and marketing services within product manufacturing.
Brad Holmes
National Operations Manager
Brad leads the day to day business management and operational planning and implementation of the Securitor business within BT Financial Group (BT), ensuring that both internal and external stakeholder commitments are managed efficiently and effectively. He is also responsible for the business’ governance and risk management capabilities, by reviewing and enhancing the core risk management frameworks to ensure that controllable risks within the group are managed effectively.
Prior to BT, Brad worked at Perpetual Private Wealth for twelve years in a variety of senior management positions, including General Manager Client Services and National Manager, Financial Planning where he was responsible for leading operational teams that supported advisers in their sales and client servicing activities.
Brad holds a Bachelor of Science from Monash University, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (finsia) and is also a Fellow of finsia.
Dave McNeill
National Manager, Offer Development
Joining the Westpac Group in 2007, Dave was appointed to the position of National Manager, Dealer Offer Development in February 2011. In this role, Dave works closely with advisers, our Distribution Team and both internal and external suppliers to ensure that our dealer group offer to advice practices is the best in our market, for advisers aligned to Securitor and more recently, Licensee Select. Dave is also responsible for the development of the insurance advice offer across these businesses given the strategic importance of this advice type to our clients.
Dave is an established leader with 25 years broad experience across the wealth management and insurance industries. Prior to joining Westpac / St.George, Dave has held senior leadership roles across : advice distribution, marketing, strategy and project management. He also has experience across customer service, operations, product management and information technology.
Over the last 15 years, Dave has worked with advisers from the financial planning businesses of Securitor, Licensee Select, Magnitude, St.George, AMP and GIO.
Annick Donat
National Capability Manager
Annick joined BT Dealer Groups in July 2011 as the National Capability Manager. Her role is to enhance the skill and effectiveness of the Dealer Group Practice Development team.
Annick has held several roles during her 25 year career in financial services including Product Manager, Business Development/Practice Development Manager and Key Account Manager. Her most recent role prior to joining BT Dealer Groups was National Operations Manager for another premium dealer group. She has extensive experience working with financial advisers to help them grow efficient, profitable businesses that provide comprehensive client engagement.
Annick is passionate about the financial services and volunteers with industry associations to actively promote the value of advice.
Greg Schapkaitz
State Manager New South Wales & ACT
Greg joined the Group in March 2008 as a Practice Development Manager. In April 2009, he was appointed to his current role, which sees him responsible for managing the NSW & ACT Dealer Group distribution team and facilitating the delivery of dealer group services to advisers. Greg’s main focus is on the delivery and implementation of practice development and other growth initiatives in our advisers’ businesses.
Prior to joining the Group Greg owned his own financial planning business, which he grew and developed over eight years before selling in August 2007. Greg is very passionate about financial services and brings his strong sales and business management experience to help our advisers achieve their business goals and objectives.
Jennifer Purnell
State Manager Victoria
In her current role as State Manager, Jennifer is responsible for sales and business development in Victoria and Tasmania across Securitor and Magnitude.
Prior to this, Jennifer was also responsible for Asgard in Victoria and Tasmania. She has gained a broad range of experience having worked in various roles across the platform and dealer group divisions. Jennifer holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Deakin University.
Craig Kouimanis
State Manager, SA
Craig Kouimanis joined the group in June 2012 as State Manager, South Australia. Over his 12 years of financial services experience Craig has held positions as a Financial Planning Manager and Business Development Manager with another large Financial Institution. During this time he has successfully led high performing teams.
His experience includes sales management, peer coaching, client lead generation and team development.
Craig joined the team to help lead and grow profitable and successful businesses. Craig is actively involved in local financial industry associations, and in his personal time raises awareness for Conductive Education which is a method to help children with disabilities become more independent.
Bryan Ashenden
Senior Manager, Technical Consulting, BT Financial Group
Bryan joined BT Financial Group in May 2001 and is responsible for the Group’s Technical Consulting offering. Prior to this, Bryan was worked within the Tax Division of KPMG Sydney. Encompassing technical hotline support, high net worth solutions and technical research, the Technical Consulting business’ goal is to ensure that planners are kept up to date on legislative changes, have access to effective strategies to assist in meeting client needs, and aware of regulatory and legislative changes that impact on client strategies and the way that planners can operate their business.
Piers Bolger
Senior Manager, Research, BT Financial Group
Piers is responsible for the Research business area of Advice & Private Banking for BT Financial Group, which includes the provision of all strategic investment, asset allocation and product related research.
Before joining BTFG, Piers was Head of Research and Investments within the wholesale business of UBS Global Asset Management in Australia and co-Portfolio Manager for a quantitative based equity income strategy.
Piers has held various asset consulting and investment research positions in a number of consulting and fund-of-fund investment manager groups with 18 years of industry experience. His responsibilities included the development of asset allocation and investment strategies, as well as thematic market and investment related research.
Piers is an Associate of the Securities Institute of Australian (ASIA) and a Member of the Investment Management Consultants Assoc (IMCA).
